Dr. William I. Han graduated from Seoul National University Medical College in 1975 with a Bachelor of Medicine. He completed his internship at Seoul National University Hospital and subsequently served in the Korean Navy.
After his military service, Dr. Han moved to Chicago, Illinois, where he completed his general surgical training at Saint Joseph Hospital. He then specialized in OB-GYN at Allegheny General Hospital, affiliated with Temple University in Pittsburgh, PA. He is board certified in OB-GYN and is a Fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists.
Dr. Han previously served as Chairman of the Department of OB-GYN at Huntington Beach Hospital and is currently an active staff member at UCI Health Fountain Valley Hospital and Medical Center. His practice focuses on Uro-Gynecology and Female Pelvic Surgery, with particular expertise in Female Urogynecology. He has developed innovative techniques, including the Nerve Sparing technique, Outpatient Burch-Sling Cysto-Urethropexy for correcting anatomical stress urinary incontinence and pelvic organ prolapse, and Intrastromal Nerve Sparing Abdominal Hysterectomy. Patients seek out Dr. Han for his mastery of surgical techniques that avoid the use of toxic foreign mesh, which is often required by other surgeons.
Outside of medicine, Dr. Han has been happily married for over 50 years and enjoys spending time with his wife, two sons, daughter, and grandson.
